Prices of Ladder and Trough Cable Trays

Ladder-type cable trays typically range from $20 to $150 per foot, while trough-type trays range from $15 to $100 per foot, depending on material, size, and load capacity.

Ladder-

Type Cable Trays

Ladder cable trays feature side rails connected by rungs, allowing cables to enter and exit at any point and promoting airflow to prevent overheating. They are commonly made of aluminum, steel, or stainless steel, with aluminum being lightweight and corrosion-resistant. Price factors include: Material: Aluminum is generally more expensive than steel.

Width and depth: Wider or deeper trays cost more. Load rating: Heavy-duty trays for industrial applications are pricier. Length and fittings: Straight sections, elbows, tees, and risers add to total cost.

Typical price range: $20–$150 per foot for standard industrial ladder trays.

Trough-

Type Cable Trays

Trough cable trays have a rectangular or U-shaped cross-section, often with open or partially covered sides. They provide good cable support and protection but less airflow than ladder trays. Materials are similar: steel, aluminum, or fiberglass-reinforced plastic.

Price factors include: Material and finish: Galvanized steel or FRP can increase cost. Tray dimensions: Larger widths and depths cost more. Covers: Optional covers for protection add to the price.

Accessories: Fittings, reducers, and supports affect total cost. Typical price range: $15–$100 per foot for standard trough trays.
