Where to plug the cables into the distribution box

Connect the incoming live (phase) wire to the main terminal, neutral to the neutral link, and earth to the earth terminal, then connect each circuit wire to its corresponding breaker.

Step-by-

Step Connection1. Safety First Always turn off the main power supply before starting any work to prevent electrical shock. Ensure the distribution box is securely mounted at an accessible height and the installation area is free of obstructions ( ).

2.

Identify Terminals

Main MC

B (Double Pole): Connect the incoming phase (live) wire to the phase terminal and the neutral wire to the neutral terminal of the main MCB ( ).

RCC

B (Residual Current Circuit Breaker): Connect the output of the main MCB to the input of the RCCB. The phase and neutral wires from the RCCB output will feed the branch circuits ( ). Neutral Link: All neutral wires from the output circuits connect here.

Earth Link: Connect the earth wire from the supply and all load circuits to this terminal. The metallic body of the box should also be earthed ( ). 3.

Connect Branch CircuitsSingle-Pole MCBs: Connect the phase wire from the RCCB output to the input of each single-pole MCB. Connect the neutral wire to the neutral link and the earth wire to the earth link ( ).

Double-

Pole MC

Bs (if used for special loads): Connect both phase and neutral wires from the RCCB output to the input of the DP MCB, and connect the load wires to the output terminals ( ). 4.

Wire Handling and Arrangement

Strip insulation to the correct length for secure connections. Crimp or tighten wires firmly to terminals to ensure good conductivity. Arrange wires neatly, use zip ties, and leave space for heat dissipation ( ).

5.

Testing

Use a multimeter to verify all connections are secure and there are no short circuits. Perform an insulation resistance test to ensure proper insulation between wires and the box ( ). Switch on the main power and test each circuit to confirm correct operation ( ).

6.

Labeling and Safety

Clearly mark each wire and breaker for easy identification. Ensure all exposed wires are insulated to prevent shorts or accidental contact ( ). Following these steps ensures that the distribution box is wired safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standard electrical practices.
