Wiring method for double-layer user distribution boxes

Double-layer user distribution boxes are wired using a structured approach with clear phase, neutral, and grounding connections, proper breaker arrangement, and adherence to safety standards.

Incoming and Outgoing Lines

Incoming line: Typically uses a five-wire system—three-phase lines (A, B, C) colored yellow, green, and red, one neutral line (light blue), and one grounding line (yellow with green stripes) for 380V systems. For 220V loads, a single phase line, neutral, and ground are used. Outgoing line: Configured according to load requirements.

Lighting circuits usually use one phase, one neutral, and one ground. Three-phase motors or heavy equipment use all three phases plus neutral and ground. Special two-phase equipment may use any two phases with a ground.

Circuit Breaker Arrangement

Layered setup: In double-layer boxes, breakers are arranged from left to right and top to bottom, with reserved positions for future expansion. Main breakers are typically on the top layer, while branch breakers occupy the lower layer. Connection method: Each breaker receives a wire from the incoming point.

Parallel connections can be used to simplify wiring. Neutral wires are pressed to the neutral terminal block, and grounding wires to the grounding terminal block.

Wire Specifications and Color Coding

Wire gauge: Lighting and socket circuits generally use 2. 5mm² wires; air conditioning or heavier loads may use 4. 0mm² wires.

Color coding: Phase wires—A (yellow), B (green), C (red); neutral—blue; ground—yellow with green stripes.

Wiring Practices

Neat routing: Wires should be bound with plastic ties, spaced evenly, and routed to avoid tangling or sharp edges. Layer separation: In double-layer boxes, top layer wiring typically handles main circuits, while bottom layer handles branch circuits. Ensure proper spacing for heat dissipation.

Labeling: Each circuit should be clearly labeled for voltage, AC/DC, and function to facilitate maintenance.

Installation Method

Mounting: Fix the box with expansion bolts or embedded wood bricks, ensuring it is horizontal, vertical, and firmly secured. Vertical deviation should not exceed 3mm. Concealed installation: Embed the box in the wall with a reserved hole slightly larger than the box dimensions.

Fill gaps with concrete and coat contact areas with anti-corrosion paint.

Safety and Testing

Inspection: After wiring, perform safety checks for short circuits, overloads, and proper grounding. Testing: Use a multimeter or insulation resistance tester to verify connections before powering on. Protection devices: Include breakers, fuses, and surge protectors for each circuit.

By following these wiring methods, double-layer user distribution boxes can be installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with electrical standards, ensuring reliable operation and ease of maintenance.
