Fiber Bragg Grating AC

As a reflective passive sensing device, Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) enables the monitoring of surface discharge and provides an early warning for flashover on external insulation. A 10 kV fiber-optic composite insulator was developed in this study. This is achieved by creating a periodic variation in the refractive index of the fiber core, which generates a. A fiber Bragg grating is a periodic or aperiodic perturbation of the effective refractive index in the core of an optical fiber (see Figure 1). Typically, the perturbation is approximately periodic over a certain length of e. These microscopic structures within optical fibers have become the bedrock of cutting-edge sensor.
